At this launch, Luise Noring participated in several-day hands-on working session among a high-level group of U.S. and European practitioners and presented her expertise in designing and implementing city governance and financing solutions.

City Facilitators is organizing two events in Hamburg this autumn. The first is a research trip to HafenCity Hamburg GmbH (HCH) to explore ways to innovate public-private partnerships in urban spatial transformation projects. Over two days—6-7 September—the team will meet with the HCH management team, private developers, and city officials in addition to site visits to Billebogen and Grasbrook with each area’s site manager. The research will lead to a second event in October.
24-25 October 2018
The second event on 24-25 October is a two day input workshop organized around the key question: How can the public sector improve the innovative capacity of the private sector in urban spatial transformative projects? This workshop will include representatives of HafenCity Hamburg GmbH, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Lisbon, Piraeus, Riga, Edinburgh, Helsingør, Nantes, and Hannover. Participants will come together to share experiences from their own cities, visit two new areas of development in HCH—Billebrook and Grassbrook—all with the goal of generating new solutions to urban redevelopment.
City Solutions Launch 2018

Focus of the launch event is on self-governing and self-financing city solutions for large scale urban redevelopment and infrastructure investments. The following city solutions will be presented:
Public Asset Corporations including Copenhagen City & Port Development Corporation and HafenCity Hamburg GmbH;
Financing the Inclusive City with the use of the Danish model for affordable and social housing.
